The Annual School Awards Ceremony takes place to acknowledge not only achievement in local, provincial and national competitions, but also to acknowledge students participation in extra-curricular activities and to acknowledge academic achievement. We honour students who through their work both inside and outside the classroom contribute to making St Vincent’s school the unique school that it is. We celebrate achievement in State examinations and in particular subject areas. We formally recognise student willingness to involve themselves in the life of the school beyond the classroom. We honour them for their school spirit and their ability to represent the school in the wider community.
The Catherine McAuley Award was instituted in honour of the founder of the Sisters of Mercy – the Catherine McAuley award for the sixth year student who most embodied the values of Catherine McAuley throughout her time in the school.
