In accordance with the requirements of the Children First Act 2015, Children First: National Guidance for the Protection and Welfare of Children 2017, the Child Protection Procedures for Primary and Post Primary Schools 2017 and Tusla Guidance on the preparation of Child Safeguarding Statements, the Board of Management of St Vincent’s Secondary School, Dundalk has formally adopted a Child Safeguarding Statement that is required as part of these new procedures. The Principal, Ms Fiona Butler will present a Child Protection Oversight Report at each meeting of the school’s Board of Management.
Any persons with child protection concerns are invited to contact a member of staff or the Designated Liaison Person (DLP), Ms Fiona Butler, or, in her absence, the Deputy Designated Liaison Person (DDLP), Ms Linda McCusker.
The Board of Management completes annual reviews of the school’s Child Safeguarding Statement. These reviews are conducted in accordance with the “Checklist for Review of the Child Safeguarding Statement” published on the Department’s website
