This September, St Vincent’s students and three accompanying teachers embarked on a tour of the French Riviera. Here they attended a week long enriching French-language immersion course at the Centre International in Antibes. Each morning they followed a busy schedule of intensive French classes modelled on the European Framework for Modern Languages and graduated with a diploma after their week-long course.
Each afternoon, they enjoyed excursions around the Riviera seeing items of historical and geographical interest, areas of natural beauty and tourist attractions. Among the highlights were visits to Èze, Monaco, Cannes, Nice and Grasse. The girls also enjoyed the Mediterranean climate and were able to swim and sunbathe in the beautiful little cove outside the walls of Old Antibes. They were accommodated by local French families which allowed them to experience authentic day to day life in France. A truly enriching experience was had by all.
Students and teachers are left with very fond memories of Antibes and of France’s beautiful Riviera region. A huge thank you to the teachers who organised this wonderful experience, the parents for their support and to the students for their enthusiasm, and commitment to embracing all aspects of the trip.
